The Roots 92 is a youth ski developed by listening to our local kids and let them decide what they want out of an all mountain ski. The end result was a playful and smooth ski with a finely tuned waist width of 90 mm that works all over the mountain, in all conditions. From the piste and the park to the backcountry, the Roots 90 is a fun ski buddy who’s up for anything. The soft and smooth flex makes it playful yet stable.
The Roots 92 is the world’s first community developed ski for youth skiers, developed with a test group of local kids in our hometown of Åre, Sweden. The goal was to create the best possible all mountain ski for younger skiers who constantly evolve their abilities. The wish list had characteristics such as the needed to be easy to carve on hard snow, be easy to ski and float well in powder and slush, and (of course) easy to jump with.
We recommend the same ski length as the skier’s body length. If the kid is better and more advanced than the average, or slightly heavier, chose a longer length. For a lighter skier than average, chose a shorter length.
The Roots 92 is a ski that lets the next generation evolve at their own pace, on their own premises, on skis adapted to their specific needs. Which means, a ton of fun.
