Versatile power for changing on-piste conditions

Size guide

Project 83 is a groomer ski packed with power and performance, yet versatile enough to handle the constantly shifting and demanding conditions often found in northern Scandinavia. This is a ski built to be pushed from first chair to last.

Two full-width layers of Titanal provide damping, edge grip, and high-speed stability, while a light rocker in the tip and tail makes it easy to maneuver even in chopped-up snow.

Shipping

Delivery time within Sweden is usually 4-5 working days. Deliveries outside Sweden take an additional day or two.

Tech & materials

Poplar/beech wood core

The wood core of stable beech and resilient poplar gives the ski a subdued yet lively character.

Prepreg fiberglass

Fiberglass that is pre-impregnated with epoxy distributes it evenly in the ski and makes it stronger and lighter.

Titanal in full width

0.4 mm Titanal along the entire ski provides ultimate edge grip on hard surfaces and stability at high speed.

Rubber damping

A 1.5 mm thick racing rubber insert in the tip and tail from Haberkorn GmbH minimizes vibrations.

Race bases

Isospeed 7515 race bases in extra high density polyethylene and high-quality graphite for optimal glide in all snow conditions.

Custom base structure

The arrow-shaped stone-ground base structure is specifically developed by Extrem and provides optimal glide on cold snow.

Extra wide ABS edge

Extra wide 8.5 mm ID 2500 ABS edges with a beveled profile provide maximum impact resistance and increased cushioning.

Extra thick steel edge

A circumferential steel edge that is 2.3 mm high and 2.2 mm wide provides maximum impact resistance and a ski with increased longevity.

Rubber foil

0.2 mm rubber foil between steel edges and core strengthens the construction and increases the strength between different materials.

Topsheet

Sublimated 0.55 mm Isocap ICP 8210 topsheet with structured surface for best wear resistance and scratch resistance.

Sustainable materials

• 70% recycled ABS plastic
• 50% recycled topsheet
• 20% recycled steel edges

FAQ

Which skis should I choose for my style of skiing?

We have designed, engineered and built all our skis - and not least, tested a lot of different prototypes of each model. What we don't know about our skis is not worth knowing, so in other words, if you have any questions, just get in touch with us, we are more than happy to help.

Contact us at +46 647-322 04 or info@areskidfabrik.se

Do I need to wax and sharpen the skis when I receive them?

Your skis will arrive ground, waxed and ready to go straight away. We use the best tuning machines on the market from Montana and each ski comes with a grind and structure that is optimised for that particular model. We are passionate skiers ourselves and know what a ski should feel like.

Do you mount bindings?

Yes. We mount all bindings that we sell according to the boot measurements that you enter when you add the binding in the purchase box.

Do I need to adjust the bindings myself?

The bindings come pre-adjusted to the ski boot size specified at purchase and set to the DIN that we believe is correct for the weight you have specified. However, you will need to fine-tune the bindings to your ski boot, we have guides for this here.

Reviews

Driven by passion since 1981

The story of Extrem started in 1981 on Frösön in northern Sweden when two teenagers decided to make snowboards in their parents' garage. Over time, the hobby turned into a business and the garage was replaced by a factory outside Åre.

All skis are designed, engineered, tested and built by our team, backed by over 40 years of experience. The focus is always on the feeling of riding and the joy of skiing for skiing all over the mountain. But at the heart of it all lies the same passion for craftsmanship and skiing downhill on snow as when it all started.
