Extrem was founded in 1981 out of passion and a desire to create something that didn't exist at that point in time; a device to surf effortlessly on top of the snow with.

When we started building skis, some 15 years later, it was purely to follow our own dreams. We didn’t look at what the rest of the industry was doing at the time, we simply followed our own hearts and built a ski brand our own way. Take it or leave it.

We come from northern Sweden, and it’s a privilege we don’t take lightly. Life here’s safe, life here’s good. We can play when we want, we have the freedom to live life the way we choose ourselves.And we live in a clean environment with mighty rivers and endless, rolling, mountains. Our energy’s clean, generated from the water and the wind that we have in abundance around here.

Our staff’s passionate, both about life here but also about going to work every day and do our very best to build skis and a brand that we can be proud of, and to do it with the least harm to the nature surrounding us or the people we care about.

Our new brand identity reflects our heritage of centuries of Swedish design and industrial traditions, and legacy. It reflects our commitment to sustainability and creating tools for people to have fun with and enjoy for many winters to come.It’s a nod to the past while looking firmly towards the future.
